Though she started out singing, she has since branched out into radio deejaying to acting. In this segment, she often dons the traditional costumes of the different countries that are featured.Vivian Lai was from the Star Search alumni, and was praised for her image as a pretty mermaid princess in the competition rounds. She won the crown, but was not often given meaty roles. Many times, she ended up playing the damsel in distress or demure girl next door. After starting her family, she took on a more comedic image. With this transformation, she enjoyed a higher level of success.
